Your Bargaining Committee is pleased to announce that a tentative agreement has been reached with the Employer and is recommending ratification by the membership.
A ratification meeting has been scheduled to review the details of the tentative agreement and provide members with an opportunity to ask questions before voting.
Date: Monday, June 29, 2026

At the meeting, your Bargaining Committee will present a summary of the proposed changes and improvements contained in the tentative agreement. Following the presentation and question period, members in attendance will have the opportunity to cast their vote.
Your participation is important. The outcome of the ratification vote will determine whether the tentative agreement becomes the new collective agreement.

Local 801 bargaining update

The Provincial Framework Agreement was officially endorsed on April 16 by both the BCPSEA and the K-12 Presidents Council. With the provincial framework now in place, your bargaining committee was able to begin local bargaining discussions with the employer on April 21.

Since that time, your bargaining committee has met with the employer on three occasions over the past month. We are pleased to report that discussions at the table have been productive and constructive, and we are encouraged by the progress that has been made so far. Bargaining has now advanced to the point where monetary proposals can be discussed. At this stage, we are awaiting the employer’s costing information in order to continue those conversations in a meaningful way.

Our next bargaining sessions are scheduled for June 4 and 5. We are optimistic that these two full days of negotiations will provide an opportunity to address outstanding issues and continue moving toward a fair agreement for members.

Your bargaining committee remains committed to keeping members informed throughout the bargaining process, and we appreciate your ongoing support and solidarity as negotiations continue.
